Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the table with a battling and fortuitous 1-0 win over Leeds at Elland Road - in a match which was delayed by 40 minutes following a power cut.
Bukayo Saka scored the only goal, winning possession from Rodrigo’s wildcross pass and exchanging passes with Martin Odegaard before finishing.
Patrick Bamford had the ball in the net 30 seconds after his introduction at half-time but it was ruled out for a shove on Gabriel before the England striker sent a penalty wide of the post after William Saliba was penalised for a handball.
Leeds were awarded a second-penalty in stoppage-time and Gabriel was sent off but both decisions were overturned after referee Chris Kavanagh consulted his pitch-side monitor.
Bamford also missed two one-on-ones as Arsenal rode their luck to earn another big victory.
Dan Kilpatrick was at Elland Road to rate the Arsenal players...
Aaron Ramsdale 9
Twice saved one-on-ones from Bamford to preserve Arsenal’s lead, and also denied Brenden Aaronson from range. Made the difference.
Ben White 6
Stretched by Rasmus Kristensen and occasionally dragged out of position. But solid enough defensively and linked up well with Saka in the first half.
William Saliba 5
Gifted Bamford a one-on-one after a heavy touch and gave away the penalty in a uncharacteristically shaky second half display.
Gabriel 6
Like Saliba, suffered hairy moments in the face of Leeds’ press and aggression, particularly after Bamford’s introduction.
Takehiro Tomiyasu 7
Steady and unspectacular at left-back. Made some important interventions defensively.
Granit Xhaka 6
Got up and down well but not as influential with the ball as he can be.
Thomas Partey 7
Ignored the boos to shield the back four impressively. Passing was good.
Bukayo Saka 8
Took his goal superbly, firing into the roof of the net, and had the beating of Pascal Stuijk. Saw less of the ball than he would have liked.
Martin Odegaard 8
Combined well with Saka for the goal and his wonderful flick created Arsenal’s first chance of the match for Jesus.
Gabriel Martinelli 5
Lively on the ball but ran down too many blind alleys and didn’t have much of an impact in the final third. Tracked back well.
Gabriel Jesus 6
Skied a great chance from close range in the first half in his only real sight of goal.
Subs
Fabio Vieira (Odegaard 72’) 6
Made a chance for Nketiah with a late corner kick.
Kieran Tierney (White 76’) 6
Helped Arsenal see out the win at left-back, with Tomiyasu switching flanks for the final 15 minutes.
Eddie Nketiah (Jesus 81’) 7
Came close with a clever late effort turned into the side netting.
Rob Holding (Saka 81’) 6
