Arsenal were held to a draw by Everton after Leandro Trossard’s opening goal was cancelled out by an Iliman Ndiaye penalty.
Trossard put Arsenal ahead in the 34th minute after finishing off a slick counter-attack with a low finish past Jordan Pickford.
Everton, however, were level immediately after the break when Ndiaye scored a penalty that was won by Jack Harrison.
Arsenal went close through a Declan Rice free-kick and Gabriel Martinelli had a decent effort saved, but they were forced to settle for a point.
Simon Collings was at Goodison Park to see Arsenal in action...
David Raya 6
Sent the wrong way by Ndiaye as the Everton forward slotted his penalty. Made a good stop to deny Abdoulaye Doucoure moments later.
Ben White 6
Made his first start since November as he works on getting back to full fitness. Overlapped at times, especially early on, and feels like he is starting to shake off the rust.
William Saliba 7
Dealt well with Beto and gave the Everton striker scraps to feed off. Enjoyed a few bright forays forward early on.
Jakub Kiwior 7
Handed a first Premier League start since December in the absence of Gabriel. Largely solid and played a few nice balls over the top.
Myles Lewis-Skelly 6
Gave away a penalty at the start of the second half after he was judged to have brought down Jack Harrison. Recovered well, including one remarkable run that won a free-kick on the edge of the box.
Declan Rice 7
Tried to win the ball high up the pitch. His set-pieces were a real threat early on and he tested Pickford with a free-kick in the second half.
Jorginho 6
Started a Premier League game for the first time since February. Fairly neat and tidy on the ball for the most part.
Mikel Merino 6
Played in midfield and was in the wars, finishing the game with tape around his head. Did a lot of dirty work and went close to a winner, but headed Tierney’s cross wide.
Ethan Nwaneri 5
Found it difficult to get into the game, despite White’s willingness to get past him on the overlap. Taken off at half time.
Leandro Trossard 7 | Star player
Tasked with playing as the team’s No9 and put Arsenal ahead midway through the first half with a good finish off his weaker foot.
Raheem Sterling 6
Struggled in the early stages, but got better as the half went on and setup Trossard’s goal with a strong run and pass. Unlucky to come off at the break.
Substitutions
Bukayo Saka (Nwaneri 46’) 6
On at half time as he continues his comeback. No heroics this time, though.
Gabriel Martinelli (Sterling 46’) 7
Another half-time substitute and got better as the half went on. Denied a goal by a great Pickford save.
Jurrien Timber (White 61’) 7
Eased any injury concerns by getting through 30 minutes off the bench. Typically solid.
Martin Odegaard (Jorginho 70’) 6
Wasted a good chance when Tierney found him with a cut-back inside the box.
Kieran Tierney (Lewis-Skelly 75’) 7
A great cameo. Created two good chances with crosses for Odegaard and Merino.
Subs not used: Neto, Tierney, Partey, Zinchenko, Gower
