Arsenal player ratings vs Chelsea as Gunners disappoint and crash out of FA Cup fifth round

Arsenal were punished for not taking their chances in their FA Cup fifth round tie against Chelsea at Kingsmeadow today.

Despite a strong early start from Arsenal that forced a big save from Berger, it was how their first half story continued as they miss the attacking powers of Mead and Miedema.

The first 45 minutes showed an exciting level-playing field for both Arsenal and Chelsea - with huge confidence in front of goal for the Gunners but frustrated from lack of finishing- and went into the dressing room needing to take up their threatening chances.

Arsenal were punished further in the second half as Sam Kerr put away a great finish to mark her 100th cap for Chelsea and still couldn't find the back of the net.

Here are the player ratings for Arsenal following their defeat.

Zinsberger - Not a lot she could’ve done for Ingle’s goal as it was drilled into the bottom corner but a great save to deny Chelsea just a few minutes before half time but made some other good saves throughout. 7

Wienroither - A tough afternoon with Reiten and Charles combining down the left wing. 5

Williamson - Alert to cut out balls aimed for Kerr through the middle throughout the 90 minutes. 6

Rafaelle - Not tight enough to Ingle allowing the midfielder plenty of space to shoot from the edge of the box. 5

Catley - James skipped past her way too easily early in the second half and created a dangerous attack, but was alert to pick up any loose balls when needed. 6

Walti - A loose pass picked up by Kerr just before halftime nearly made it two for Chelsea. Some crucial defending early in the second half as James broke free down the right. 6

Little - Some good defending to see off a Chelsea attack in the 8th minute and was still solid on the back line with Williamson. 7

Maanum - Forced an early save from Berger in the opening few minutes. Missed a blinder after great play from Foord and Blackstenius but couldn’t get on the end of Blackstenius’ cross. 7

McCabe - A bit of a disappointing forward performance today for McCabe, tried to make some good chances but like the team as a whole, couldn’t get it over the line. 6

Blackstenius - Huge opportunity just before the 20 minute mark as she was played clean through, but was unable to keep her shot down. Really seeing her talent shine through despite being unable to finish, she's one for fans to watch on the front line along with Foord. 7

Foord - There to pick up the ball when Chelsea lost control and some good skills managing to make sure James doesn’t win the ball off her. Made some brilliant runs to create great chances for her teammates and causing havoc for the Chelsea defence. Only thing missing from her game today was goals. Tough to handle. 7
