Arsenal player ratings vs Bodo/Glimt as Nketiah and Vieira impress but Marquinhos underwhelms

Matt Turner: His distribution still looks a little shaky, but when the American was called upon to make a save he showed the shotstopping ability that ultimately convinced Mikel Arteta to bring him to the Emirates Stadium. 7.

Takehiro Tomiyasu: Got forward superbly and showed that he's more than ready to fill the right back spot if Ben White finds his standards slipping at any point. 8.

Rob Holding: Grabbed his goal with a really well placed header. Brought the ball out of defence well on occasion and was decent on the ball if not quite at the standard of William Saliba. 8.

Gabriel: Really focused display from the Brazilian who was impressive on the ball throughout. Didn't have that much to do, but looked comfortable most of the game. 7.

Kieran Tierney: Got forward really well and was allowed to play more to his traditional overlapping strengths. Caused Bodo problems down the left and generally did OK when he was forced to come infield. 8.

Albert Sambi Lokonga: Sat very deep as Arsenal gave Bodo more of a chance in the second half. Wasn't as progressive as he can be with his passing, but then again he didn't give the ball away much. 6.

Granit Xhaka: A steady display from the Swiss midfielder who got forward well to cause havoc in the box yet again. Good in possession too, but rightly rested early on in the second half when the game was comfortable. 7.

Fabio Vieira: Really bright performance from the 22-year-old who was at the hub of everything Arsenal did creatively in the first half half. Deserved a goal to go with his assist and eventually got it after superb work from Jesus. 8.

Marquinhos: A slightly disappointing night for the 19-year-old who drew the frustration of his manager from the sidelines. By no means is this a case of killing him as it was only his first game in front of the Emirates, but far more is needed if he's to trouble the first team. 6.

Eddie Nketiah: A fantastic all round display from the Hale Ender who delivered on his promise to take his opportunity. His all round game has improved so much recently and he looks like a more than useable player for the first team when needs be. 9.

Gabriel Martinelli: Bright and energetic as ever down the left wing. Crucial in the build up to the first goal and created chances with his direct dribbling. 8

Substitutes -

Martin Odegaard: Gave Arsenal a bit more control in the game after coming on. Was keen to ensure standards stayed high among his teammates where possible. 7.

Gabriel Jesus: Superb work in the build up to third goal where he demonstrated his mesmeric close control. A good cameo overall for the Brazilian. 8.

Bukayo Saka: Perhaps a questionable choice to risk the 21-year-old ahead of Liverpool but he was solid enough after coming on before the hour mark. 7.

Ben White: Did a decent job after coming on. Interesting that he replaced Kieran Tierney. Oleksandr Zinchenko was not in training on Wednesday and that could be a sign that the Scot is being preserved for Liverpool this weekend. 7.

Reiss Nelson: Given his opportunity that he was promised but got it quite late in the game. You assume he'll be starting next week when the two teams meet in Norway. 7.
