Arsenal are planning to add another two players to their squad this week as Mikel Arteta continues to strengthen his ranks ahead of the 2022/23 season.
The Gunners have already made one signing with youngster Marquinhos arriving from Sao Paulo while Porto have confirmed that Fabio Viera has joined Arsenal for a fee in the region of £35million. Both are under the age of 23 and suit the profile of player Arteta is looking for.
Now, according to the Mail, Arsenal are ready to spend around £70m on two more recruits with Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus and Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez at the top of their shopping list. The Gunners have already saw a £35m bid rejected for Jesus, while Martinez is attracted to Arteta's project.
City reportedly want around £50m for Jesus, who has one year left on his contract, and will be allowed to leave the reigning Premier League champions this summer. The Brazilian has scored has scored 95 goals in 236 games since joining City in a £31m transfer from Palmeiras in 2017.
Arteta is keen to bolster his attacking options following Alexandre Lacazette's departure. The Frenchman has agreed to re-join Lyon on a free transfer, while Eddie Nketiah put pen to paper on a new five-year deal after impressing at the end of last season, scoring five times in six games.
Negotiations are expected to continue at pace for Jesus' signature, and Arsenal are keen to get the deal done as soon as possible, so they can focus on other transfer targets. It is claimed Jesus is keen to reunite with Arteta, despite the fact the Gunners cannot offer him Champions League football.

Meanwhile, Martinez would provide healthy competition for Gabriel and Ben White at the back. The pair started the majority of the Gunners' league matches when fit last season, but with Arsenal set to play in Europe, Arteta wants to add more depth to his defence with Rob Holding and William Saliba the only other senior players in that position.
It is unclear whether Saliba will be sent back out on loan or sold on a permanent deal after impressing during a season-long loan spell at Marseille. The 21-year-old has been linked with an immediate switch back to the French club but would prefer to fight for his place at Arsenal.
Youri Tielemans is another name which has been thrown into the mix, although the Gunners want to get players out before signing the Belgian. He has one year left on his contract at Leicester City and could be available for £25m.
