Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji, according to reports. The Switzerland international has been heavily linked with an exit from the Bundesliga club this summer, with rivals Manchester United rumoured to show interest.
It comes as the Gunners continue their busy transfer window, with four players making the switch to north London already. Matt Turner, Marquinhos, Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus have joined in deals that have cost a combined £80million.
That total could soon move to over £100million though as the Gunners have reached a £30million agreement to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City. The versatile defender can play at both left-back and in the midfield, offering plenty of options within the squad.

Further additions could be on the cards after Mikel Arteta said: "We’re in the market to keep improving the squad but there are so many parties involved and sometimes things don’t happen as quickly as you want.”
Arsenal could be eyeing other moves at the back, should they face any players wishing to leave. Gabriel Magalhaes has been linked with an exit following his impressive performances, while William Saliba has also been rumoured to be considering a move with his place in the squad unknown.
Villarreal's Pau Torres has been suggested as an alternative. However, Akanji is said to have been offered this summer. That's according to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sport Witness, who claim that the Gunners have been told £20million could be enough to land the defender.
Manchester United have previously shown interest in the centre-back and should they make a move, there could be another transfer battle on their hands.
