Leicester City's Youri Tielemans has a huge advantage over Arsenal's other transfer targets this summer as he looks to secure a move to the Emirates.
Mikel Arteta is keen to add further creativity to his midfield and Tielemans is seen as the perfect addition. But the Gunners have cast their net wide and are also exploring a move for Lyon star Lucas Paqueta.
And Tielemans appears to be the better option for one simple reason. It comes as Serge Gnabry has shown his loyalty to his former club amid reports linking him with a move back to the Premier League.
And Arsenal have announced their 33-man squad for the pre-season tour of the US – which includes four new signings.
Join the debate! Would Lucas Paqueta or Youri Tielemans be a better signing for Mikel Arteta's Arsenal during the summer transfer window? Let us know what you think here.
Tielemans' transfer advantage
Mikel Arteta could turn to Leicester City's Youri Tielemans rather than try and sign Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta this summer – with the Belgian holding one crucial advantage over the Brazilian.
The Gunners are hopeful of bringing one of the stars in to help strengthen their midfield but have been quoted a £67million fee by Lyon for Paqueta after he netted nine goals, registered six assists and was voted as the best foreign player in Ligue 1 last season. In that regard, Tielemans holds the advantage – with his Leicester contract up in just a year's time.
It means he could be available for significantly less than Paqueta, with the Foxes unlikely to want him leaving for nothing when his contract expires.
Gnabry shows Arsenal loyalty
Serge Gnabry has shown just how loyal he is to Arsenal after being linked with a move to one of their Premier League rivals.
The German winger has just a year left on his contract at Bayern Munich and reports have suggested he could be on the move this summer. One of the clubs linked with signing him has been Chelsea, although Gnabry is said to be ready to reject any offers they come up with.
Reports coming out of Germany suggest Gnabry would only ever play for one club in London – ruling a move to join the Blues out entirely.
Pre-season tour squad announced
The 33-man squad for Arsenal's pre-season tour of the United States has been announced.
Thomas Partey has been added to the travelling party after missing last week's trip to Germany, where they overcame Nurnberg in a friendly on Friday. Goalkeeper Bernd Leno has also been included despite being the subject of a £10million offer from Fulham.
New signings Fabio Vieira, Gabriel Jesus, Marquinhos and Matt Turner will also travel with the squad and no doubt hope to get vital minutes for their new side.
