Here’s your morning digest for Monday, June 27.
Daniel Ballard’s Burnley deal collapses
Arsenal youth project Daniel Ballard, who has spent the last two seasons on loan with Blackpool and Millwall, looked set to join Vincent Kompany’s Burnley on a permanent deal. However, despite travelling to Lancashire for his medical, the deal has since collapsed.

The Athletic reports that terms could not be agreed for the deal to be completed. Arsenal had wanted to insert a clause into the deal that would see the Gunners able to match any potential future bid for the player, a move designed to improve the club’s sales methods.
Ballard will now return to Arsenal. A potential move to Burnley or any other club is not active but with time left in the window, the Northern Ireland international is still likely to leave.
William Saliba contract talks continue
Arsenal defender William Saliba continues to be locked in talks with the club over a potential new contract. Chris Wheatley reports that the discussions are going positively with the player who spent last season on loan with Marseille.

OM had hoped to try and keep the player at the club. Marseille President Pablo Longoria publicly spoke about the hope to try and see Saliba remain in France, while former Arsenal teammate and current midfielder Matteo Guendouzi also said he would try to convince the player to stay.
However, at present, his efforts look to be failing. The expectation is for the 20-year-old to join up with the north London side for pre-season.
Raphinha meets agent Deco in Spain
As players travel for their holidays ahead of the new season, it has given a chance for Arsenal transfer target Raphinha to meet up with his agent. The former Chelsea and Barcelona midfielder Deco who represents the Brazilian has been at the centre of a potential deal.
Despite the player’s location being closer to the Catalan side, Barcelona remain in a difficult financial situation to complete the deal. Arsenal have already had a bid rejected for Raphinha and there is a growing expectation they will return again to try agree on a move for the player with Leeds.
