Arsenal news: Jack Wilshere makes fans plea as Roy Keane predicts title collapse

At last, we're at the business end of the season.

Arsenal fans will be nervous, as Mikel Arteta's side try to win a first Premier League title in 19 years. The Gunners are eight points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table having played a game more, although they still need to travel to their title rivals.

Arteta's side must also face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, which is never an easy trip... especially when Reds boss Jurgen Klopp whips up the passionate Merseyside crowd. Ahead of that crucial fixture, here are the latest headlines from the Emirates.

Wilshere issues rallying cry

Arsenal U18 boss Jack Wilshere has called for Arsenal fans to pack out the Emirates for their FA Youth Cup final against the winners of West Ham vs Southampton. The Gunners reached the final after beating Man City at the same venue on Tuesday night.

Manchester United are the reigning champions after beating Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford last year. Wilshere said, "I watched the Youth Cup final last year and there was 60,000 there. And I know that our fans are better than Man United fans.

Do you think Arsenal can win the Premier League and the FA Youth Cup? Let us know in the comments below!

"I hope we can [get a big crowd]. I don’t see why not. I think we had like 25,000 in 2009 [33,662], it was nice. So listen, let’s build it.

"I watch the women’s games and that energy and that feeling they create. What the fans can create, is special. I want the players to experience that. Let’s get the fans down and get their support."

Keane predicts collapse

Roy Keane believes Arsenal are now the favourites for the Premier League title... but he doesn't see them getting over the line.

"They’re in a great position, wouldn’t have thought that at the start of the season but they’ve been brilliant, a lot of the young players have been very consistent, they can just focus on the league," he said on The Overlap. "They’re definitely favourites for the title.

"I don’t think they’ll do it. I still have to fancy City but Arsenal have got themselves in a great position. You need a little bit of luck, injuries over the last few months, they’re in a great position and you have to admire them for that can’t begrudge them."

Klopp puts pressure on Arsenal

Liverpool manager Klopp has backed his players to give Arsenal a good game. The Reds have won just one of their last eight Premier League games but have tasted victory in each of their last three home outings, including the 7-0 win against Man Utd.

"The next game is Arsenal," noted Klopp after Tuesday's goalless draw against Chelsea. "I don’t know exactly where Arsenal were last year, but they are now obviously flying, in incredible shape, play super football, honestly, that is really good to watch.

"But we are there, it is a home game and our home record is not as bad as the away record. It means I am really looking forward to this game now because tonight I saw a step and that’s what I wanted. Now let’s carry on. Anfield is waiting for us and we want to deliver."
