Arsenal news: Gary Neville issues scathing criticism as Patrick Vieira makes Gunners prediction

Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Sunday, August 7.

Gary Neville takes aim at Granit Xhaka following Crystal Palace booking

Gary Neville believes Granit Xhaka’s poor disciplinary record will "always let Arsenal down" - and Mikel Arteta should be preparing to replace him in the Gunners side.

The Swiss midfielder picked up his first booking of the season for simulation on the opening day against Crystal Palace in Arsenal's 2-0 win at Selhurst Park on Friday night.

While the 29-year-old did play well, it was his 53rd yellow card for Arsenal, leaving Sky Sports pundit Neville to criticise the Arsenal midfielder.

The Gunners got their season off to a flying start with a 2-0 win over Palace at Selhurst Park.

Gabriel Martinelli bagged the first goal of the new campaign for Arsenal, while a late deflected Bukayo Saka strike off Palace defender Marc Guehi saw the Gunners wrap up all three points late on.
