Arsenal news: Edu submits £76m bid as Carlo Ancelotti confirms Real Madrid target is available

Here is your Arsenal morning digest on Sunday, May 22.

Isco available for free

Real Madrid midfielder and former Arsenal transfer target Isco is set to leave the Santiago Bernabeu once his contract expires in the coming weeks. Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Los Blancos will not renew the 30-year-old's deal, making him available via a free transfer this summer.

As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, the Italian boss said: "Isco's career with Real Madrid ends today - it's been a great career."

The Spanish playmaker has been linked with a move to the Emirates on a number of occasions in the past, rumours initially emerging in 2015, whilst there was also talk in the previous summer window that the Gunners retain an interest.

Osimhen bid rejected

The Gunners have submitted a bid worth €90million (£76million) for Napoli striker and Spurs target Victor Osimhen, according to Calciomercato. The 23-year-old has featured 26 times for the Italian giants in Serie A this season, directly contributing towards 19 goals.

His impressive displays for Luciano Spalletti's side have steered Napoli to Champions League qualification, though five points adrift of a title challenge. Osimhen has been central to the Naples-based side's success in recent times, with many top European clubs reportedly keen to secure his signature. Arsenal and Tottenham are seemingly among those in the race, with Mikel Arteta's side striking first.

Despite the Gunners' eagerness to wrap up a deal early doors, Calciomercato claim that Edu's bid has been palmed away. Reports outline that Napoli's transfer chief Aurelio De Laurentiis values the Nigeria international at around £93million.

Arsenal have concerns regarding Saka's future

Arsenal are under pressure to include a release clause in Bukayo Saka's next contract, with talks over a new deal set to start after the season has finished. His impressive displays have steered Arsenal within touching distance of Champions League qualification, and thus attracting the interest from several top-flight sides in Europe.

Italian outlet Calciomercato reported in September that Saka, whose current deal at the Emirates Stadium expires in nearly two years, courted the interest of Juventus and Atletico Madrid. At the time, the report claimed that Arsenal would not be prepared to sell the England international for anything less £43million.

However, following an imperious campaign in north London for Arteta's side, the forward has seen his market valued sky rocket to around £101million, according to CIES Football Observatory.
