Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Wednesday, March 9.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin identified as Arsenal’s best option
Arsenal have been linked with a number of strikers ahead of the summer transfer window following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's exit to Barcelona in January, while Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are both expected to leave when their contracts expire in the summer.
It could leave Mikel Arteta with just one out-and-out striking option in youngster Folarin Balogun, so a number of options have been linked with a move to the Emirates.
One of those is Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin, a player that former Gunners striker Perry Groves believes is a perfect fit.
Speaking to the Daily Star, he said: “Without a shadow of a doubt, they need a centre-forward [in the summer].
“I don’t think they are going to re-sign Alexandre Lacazette. I am a big fan of Lacazette, the quality he brings players in around him with the physicality.
“Obviously his goalscoring output has dropped substantially over the last 18 months but the money and the wages he is on, I don’t think they will renew for that sort of money.
“I would bring in someone like [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin. I think he would fit in perfect, his attitude is good, taught by Carlo Ancelotti and off the ball he can close down and press.”
Serge Gnabry already given verdict on Arsenal return
Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry has been linked with a return to the Emirates in the summer, amid uncertainty over his future in Bavaria.
The 26-year-old has less than 18-months left on his current deal, opening the potential for a move away in the near-future.
Since leaving in 2016, the Germany international has gone on to become a star in the Bundesliga, though he has said Arsenal would be his “favourite option” for a potential return.

Micah Richards makes Arsenal Champions League claim
Former Manchester City defender and pundit Micah Richards says Arsenal are his choice for a top four finish this season.
It comes as the Gunners made their way up to fourth on Sunday with a 3-2 win over Watford in the league.
While Mikel Arteta’s men are playing well, Richards believes that things aren’t as bad as they seem at Manchester United, who are also on the charge for a Champions League finish, while Chelsea could peer over their shoulder late in the season.
