Arsenal are getting closer with each passing day to finalising their £105million record-breaking transfer for West Ham star Declan Rice.

A verbal agreement has already been reached between the two parties with negotiations continuing over the structure of the third proposal submitted by the Gunners.

With news breaking of the Hammers' intention to accept the third bid from Emirates Stadium last Wednesday, slow progress has since been made and the reason for talks reaching a minor stumbling block involving the West Ham captain has now been revealed.

West Ham have been conducting some important business of their own while Arsenal push to sign Rice this summer.

The Gunners are entering the final negotiations for the 24-year-old with it now being widely reported the move will be sealed in the next 24/48 hours.

Jurrien Timber hint

Jurrien Timber is expected to follow Declan Rice through the door at Emirates Stadium as Arsenal look to finalise a £145million double swoop.

After submitting a fresh proposal for the defender, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed that sources close to the deal for Timber expect his transfer to be complete by some point this week with precise payment terms still being discussed before a medical will be scheduled.

After posting a cryptic tweet on Saturday morning, Timber has made another decision that could hint his move to Arsenal will be announced in the early stages of next week rather than towards the end.
