Pundits disagree on Thomas Partey verdict amid Ghana defeat
Whilst many feel Partey has been a key player for the Gunners this term, Graeme Souness and Roy Keane have disagreed in their verdict of the Ghana international. Speaking during ITV's coverage of Ghana against Portugal, Souness said: "I think he’s [Partey] got better.
"He’s got a bit of everything and I think you’re going to see him improve in his days at Arsenal. He’s got all the attributes to be a very very good player and this is another stage for him, you know get out there and show you can do it on this stage as well."
Keane agreed that Partey has enjoyed a good season and helped Arteta's side sit top of the Premier League table at Christmas, but the former Manchester United midfielder is still far from convinced and questioned his leadership qualities. Keane added: "He’s had a good season so far (with Arsenal).
"He had his injury problems first and he’s got a big role in this (Ghana) team. I’m still not convinced he’s got those leadership skills, but he’s a very good player, he’ll have a big part to play as he’s got a big responsibility in the middle of the park. He should be confident, and it will be challenge for him to help the players around him."

Arsenal urged to complete Cristiano Ronaldo signing
Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has urged his former club to sign Cristiano Ronaldo following his release from Manchester United. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is currently without a club in the aftermath of his explosive TV interview with Piers Morgan last week.
Ronaldo's future at Old Trafford had been in doubt for some time after a number of incidents this season and his interview on TalkTV last week was ultimately the final nail in the coffin. United were said to be 'furious' with Ronaldo after the interview after the 37-year-old claimed that he felt betrayed by the club.
As Ronaldo prepares to kick off his World Cup campaign today with Portugal, many clubs have been tipped to sign the legendary forward, including Arsenal. The Gunners sit top of the Premier League after their sensational start to the season and are hoping to improve Mikel Arteta's squad in January.
Despite the signing not fitting into Arsenal's transfer strategy over recent windows, Seaman has urged the Gunners to swoop in to sign Ronaldo to add more firepower to their frontline. "Ronaldo is far from done, and he would be perfect for Arsenal," he told TalkTV.
Saka makes Ronaldo admission
Arsenal's Bukayo Saka has admitted that Cristiano Ronaldo was his 'favourite player' growing up. The latter of the two has been in the headlines over the past week after Manchester United announced that the club and player had mutually agreed to terminate his contract at Old Trafford.
Saka became the youngest Englishman ever to score two or more goals at a World Cup finals as the Three Lions cruised to a 6-2 victory in their tournament opener against Iran on Monday.
"Growing up, my favourite player was Cristiano Ronaldo," he wrote in an article for England's official website. "Everyone used to do the same stance as him and the same celebrations, of course, it's difficult to model yourself on him because he's one of the best to ever play football and with his stature and the way he can score headers. He can do a lot of stuff that is obviously difficult for others to do, but he was definitely my role model growing up.
"As for Arsenal, I used to love the older generation of players like Thierry Henry. I loved Thierry. And because I was at Arsenal, I used to be able to go to games, and at that time, I loved Alexis Sanchez. He was one of my favourite players."
