It appears that things are finally moving for Arsenal in the January transfer market as the end of 2022 comes closer. With that the winter market will open and the Gunners have reportedly made their move for their priority target in January.
According to Ukrainian journalist Ihor Tsyhanyk, Arsenal have made an official offer to Shakhtar Donetsk for Mykhaylo Mudryk. The winger is a long-term target of the Gunners, football.london, understands having impressed across the past 12 months.
Mudryk is a player that Mikel Arteta appreciates for his great speed, pace, creativity and attitude, making him the club's No. 1 winter option for reinforcement. The player himself has been very vocal about his inability to say ‘no’ to the Gunners should they come in for him.

The value of the offer remains a mystery. However, Tsyhanyk claims that the bid is both ‘decent and adequate'. The Ukrainian side had been publicly seeking a figure in the region of €100million (£88million), although there had been an expectation they might be willing to consider less.
Having suffered injuries to both Gabriel Jesus and Reiss Nelson in the past month, sporting director Edu needed to work quickly to reinforce a squad that is four points clear at the top of the table. Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka were the only senior, available wide options left.
Emile Smith Rowe is expected back in January having been missing after undergoing groin surgery. The Arsenal manager can call upon youth options Marquinhos and Amario Cozier-Duberry, who both showed some impressive signs in the mid-season friendlies.
Arsenal were facing competition from other clubs across Europe and in the Premier League including Newcastle for Mudryk. However, their aggressive approach and the reported bid could see them win the race for the exciting starlet.
