Arsenal are reportedly monitoring a £34million alternative to Youri Tielemans this summer. The Leicester City midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates this summer, with just one-year remaining on his contract.
It comes ahead of an expected huge spending spree for Mikel Arteta in the transfer market. The Spaniard has already made three additions in the window, and looks set to address problems across every part of the field.
This was hinted at by director Edu, who said after the signing of Fabio Vieira : “We will now continue to work hard and are looking forward to finishing this transfer window as strongly possible.”

Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus appears close to making the switch to solve the problem in the centre-forward role. Elsewhere, the midfield is still an area that has to be looked at. Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka were the usual pairing during the previous campaign. However, the lack of depth beyond them had caused issues when injuries and suspensions arose.
And while Tielemans has been heavily linked, the Daily Mail reports that the Gunners are also considering a move for Lens midfielder Seko Fofana. The report adds that the 27-year-old is rated at £34million. It remains to be seen whether a move would go through, however, it adds further options for the summer if other deals fall through.
