Arsenal loanee Auston Trusty has labelled his parent club the best in the world as Mikel Arteta's men look to extend their lead at the top of the table. Trusty, 24, was signed over the summer from Colorado Rapids and has since been sent out on loan to Birmingham City.
Whilst the Blues have had a rocky time in the Championship, Trusty has been able to watch his new side from afar and has been left extremely impressed. He has seen his progression blocked off slightly with the signing of Jakub Kiwior in January and the settled first choice duo of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes picked consistently this season.
There is hope that Trusty can take his first experiences in English football up a notch next season though, especially with Rob Holding entering the final 18 months of his deal in north London. With four goals this season from defence already, he certainly has something to offer.

There is no doubt in his mind either over what he wants to achieve in the coming years. "To get there and play every single game," he told GOAL. "That’s the mindset I have. I want to go there, show what I can do and make my mark in the Premier League and on the team.
"It’s all a stepping stone, but that’s the main goal. The sky's the limit really." That may also be the case for Arteta's side as they are going currently. Ahead of their match against Brentford the Gunners are already five points clear at the top and Trusty doesn't think there's a better performing side out there.
"I would say they are the best team in the world," he says. "It’s been a remarkable season and hopefully it continues and they go on and win the title. I know that’s the mindset of the entire Arsenal organisation.
"I wish I was part of the team doing it, but watching from afar I’m still proud watching the squad doing what they are doing."
Trusty was part of the Birmingham team that beat West Brom on Friday, one day before Arsenal face Thomas Frank's driven Brentford squad. That left them 16th in the Championship, six points clear of the drop zone ahead of Saturday's fixtures.
