Arsenal line-ups vs Man United with Trossard debut decision, Partey gets chance and Saka starts

The big games are coming thick and fast for Arsenal. A week after beating Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby, the Premier League leaders welcome Manchester United to the Emirates Stadium.

There's an argument that a slight edge has been taken off this fixture following the Red Devils' 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace in midweek - a game that saw Casemiro pick up his fifth yellow card of the season which rules him out of the trip to the capital through suspension.

But given the history between the two sides and their current form, there's every chance a classic will be served up on Sunday afternoon. A win for the hosts and they will remain at least five points clear at the top of the table, whilst United could blow the title race wide open if they leave north London victorious.

The good news for Arsenal is that Mikel Arteta hasn't reported any fresh injuries following the 2-0 win over Spurs which means he can name an unchanged team. However, with Gabriel Magalhaes joining William Saliba and Bukayo Saka on four yellow cards, could the triple suspension risk cause the Gunners boss to rethink his line-up?

Not for the first time this season, football.london's Arsenal writers Kaya Kaynak and Tashan Deniran-Alleyne are on hand to offer their assistance to the Spanish tactician. Below, they name their respective starting line-ups for the home side against Man United.

Kaya Kaynak - Chief Arsenal Writer

It's a huge game for Arsenal this weekend and if I were Mikel Arteta I'd look to go as strong as possible. Aaron Ramsdale is a guaranteed starter in goal after his man-of-the-match display against Spurs last week, while William Saliba and Gabriel would continue their partnership in the middle of the defence.

At full-back I wouldn't look to make any changes yet again. Ben White is in the form of his life, while Alex Zinchenko is going to another level with his recent displays.

The lack of Thomas Partey cost Arsenal big time in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford earlier this season and his return could be key. Granit Xhaka meanwhile has a great scoring record against United, while Martin Odegaard is an obvious pick.

Up front I'm making no changes yet again. Eddie Nketiah has to start up top, while Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka will look to continue their relentlessly excellent form this season. Emile Smith Rowe could have a crucial role to play off the bench, however.

Tashan Deniran-Alleyne - Arsenal Writer

Even if Leandro Trossard is cleared to play against Manchester United following his £21m transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion on Friday, I can't see him starting. That's nothing against the new signing, it's just that Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah have been in good form over the past month.

With that said, the Belgian's arrival suddenly gives Arsenal some attacking depth on the bench. Between Trossard, Emile Smith Rowe and Fabio Vieira, Mikel Arteta has some game-changers waiting in the wings if things aren't going to plan against the Red Devils on Sunday afternoon.

Another boost for the Gunners is Thomas Partey should be available to start. The Ghana international missed the reverse fixture at Old Trafford earlier in the season and his absence was glaring. It's a no brainer that he anchors the midfield with captain Martin Odegaard and Granit Xhaka ahead of him.

Man United were devastating on the counter-attack back in September and that's something for Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Oleksandr Zinchenko to keep in mind as Aaron Ramsdale goes in search of a third straight clean sheet in the Premier League.
