Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has delivered his verdict on reported Gunners target Gabriel Jesus. If his words are anything to go by, Edu will be encouraged to try and wrap up a deal as soon as possible.
As previously reported, the Gunners will target two centre-forwards. football.london understands that Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus and Roma frontman Tammy Abraham are among the shortlisted profiles who could arrive at Emirates Stadium. Jesus in particular remains open to leaving the current Premier League champions, with his representative reportedly holding talks with Edu throughout the past few months.
Arsenal first made enquiries for Jesus in November, with Edu maintaining a close relationship with the player's agent and the City forward himself. Jesus could get more minutes between now and the end of the season as City look to increase his potential transfer fee, with the Gunners expected to lodge a bid in the region of £35million this summer.

Now, with the transfer window just a matter of months away, Henry has delivered his verdict on what Jesus can offer a manager: “What he can give offensively to the team,” Henry told CBS Sports, as cited by HITC. “We saw that he scored four goals at the weekend [in the 5-1 win over Watford]. When he is in the box, he’s one of the three that is playing, or since Aguero left, he has that nine instinct. He has what the No. 9 would smell.
“What I like with him is that when he puts pressure, whether it’s on the left, on the right or in the middle, he doesn’t have a problem to defend in them situations by coming back and helping his team.”
Henry's words suggest that he would be more than happy if his former club were to get a deal done for Jesus over the summer. There could still a long way to go, however, with what feels like the beginning of a transfer saga.
