Arsenal legend Thierry Henry floored by shocking Micah Richards £600 reveal

Thierry Henry could not believe what he was hearing when fellow pundit Micah Richards revealed how much he spends to get his hair cut during this week's Champions League coverage.

The Champions League returned to our screens for the first time since November this week, with Chelsea and Tottenham each falling to Round of 16 first leg 1-0 defeats on away soil.

The trio of Henry, Richards and Jamie Carragher were on hand to provide insight and, as many supporters who watch Europe's elite club competition via American broadcaster CBS know, comical moments throughout too.

Highlights include Carragher admitting his desperation to see Jude Bellingham sign for his former club, as well as aiming a witty jibe at Blues owner Todd Boehly. The latter left Richards in hysterics but this was not his only contribution of the week, as the former Manchester City defender shocked his fellow pundits when talking about his haircuts.

The situation arose when presenter Kate Abdo posed the question: who has the better hair - Micah Richards or former Arsenal and Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud?

Richards backed himself in this fight before revealing he has his hair taken care of three times a week. A taken aback Henry slowly turned in his direction, before asking: "What did you just say?"

As he was challenged, Richards could only dig a deeper hole for himself, revealing how much each haircut costs.

"What does my barber cost? £200 a time yes. When I say the most, like I'll get a trim tomorrow for the Champions League and I'm working the weekend so I'll get a trim.

"I did it today. I've got to get a sharpen up tomorrow."

Abdo's quick maths summarised that this rate would give Richards an annual bill of little over £31,000, however he quickly shut this down, stating that he would only keep up his habit on weeks when he is on punditry duties.

Carragher saw the funny side, jokingly saying: "Two haircuts in two days? Messi hasn't even got a goal ratio like that," however Henry could still not wrap his head around the fact.

"Micah, what is the purpose," he pressed his fellow pundit.

What was Richard's final response? "I've got to look sharp. You know when you look good you're able to perform."
