When it comes to transfer negotiations with Brighton & Hove Albion, it's a case of 'been-there done-that' for Arsenal.
Twice in the past couple of years, the Gunners have done significant business with the fellow Premier League outfit. Firstly, to sign Benjamin White in the 2021 summer transfer window and then again as recently as January with the club swooping for Leandro Trossard after missing out on Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea.
Now, when comparing the speed in which it took both deals to be completed, from the outside looking in, it appears the latter was done in a matter of days, especially as football.london reported that it took several weeks of discussions before Arsenal had a £50million bid accepted by the Seagulls for White.
Two different approaches ultimately resulted in the same result and it could be something to keep in mind heading with the summer transfer window to open shortly as Moises Caicedo is being strongly tipped to become the third Brighton player to swap the Amex Stadium for the Emirates in a short space of time.
Of course, it was only in January when it seemed like the Ecuador international was angling to leave upon penning an open letter on social media requesting a move after the Gunners had seen an opening offer of around £60m rejected during the final days of the transfer window.
As things panned out Arsenal turned their attention elsewhere and completed a deal for Jorginho after seeing an improved bid rebuffed for Caicedo and the midfielder has since signed a new contract at the Amex Stadium, which isn't thought to have included a release clause.

Although if recent reports are to be believed then it will take a stunning offer of around £100million for the Seagulls to sell the 21-year-old this summer and if the aforementioned negotiations with regard to the White deal is any indication, then Arsenal should already be well aware that Brighton chairman Tony Bloom won't budge on the asking price.
After all, Bloom revealed before the 2021 summer transfer window had even opened that he wouldn't stand in the way of players wanting to move on - but only on the condition that the right offer is made - and he's stuck to his word as evidenced with subsequent sales of Marc Cucurella, Yves Bissouma and Dan Burn.
"It's not a flip side at all," he told The Athletic. "The more big clubs there are interested in our players, the more we’re doing right, so I’m delighted with that. We know some of our best players are not going to be with us forever. If the right offer comes along — and it has to be the right offer — and they want to go, then they will leave."
So if Arsenal are to complete a deal for Caicedo this summer, not only are they going to have to meet Brighton's demands but also fend off competition from Chelsea as football.london understands Mauricio Pochettino's side are expected to push for a move to sign the Ecuadorian.
