Arsenal: Jorginho’s agent confirms decision on Fenerbahce transfer rumours

Jorginho will remain at Arsenal despite transfer speculation touting a move to Fenerbahce, the player’s agent has confirmed.

The Turkish giants have been linked with a bid for the 31-year-old midfielder after it was claimed he was ready to leave north London this summer.

Fenerbahce have until September 15 to sign players, which means Jorginho’s exit have would left Mikel Arteta unable to bring in a replacement.

However, agent Joao Santos has quashed talk of his client moving on.

“Jorginho is focused on Arsenal, on the Premier League title race and the Champions League,” he told TMW.

“He won't go to Fenerbahce.”

Jorginho has made three substitute appearances for Arsenal this season before being left out of the Italy squad for their upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers.

New coach Luciano Spalletti opted for more youthful playmakers such as Sandro Tonali and Davide Frattesi while leaving experienced heads Jorginho, Marco Verratti and Leonardo Bonucci out.

“The coach arrived recently, he makes his choices and that's his right,” added Santos. “It's a question of time, because Jorginho is fundamental for the national team.”
