Arsenal: Jamie Carragher lists three reasons why Gunners won't win Premier League title ahead of Liverpool

Jamie Carragher says Arsenal’s current attacking options are not enough to help them win the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners dropped more costly points in the title race this season as they were held to a draw at home to Aston Villa at the weekend.

Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz netted either side of the break to put Arsenal in a comfortable position but Youri Tielemans and Ollie Watkins scored in quick succession to complete the comeback.

The result leaves Arsenal six points behind leaders Liverpool, who have also game in hand.

Speaking about his former club’s chances of being crowned champions for the first time since 2004, Emmanuel Petit reflected on the Gunners’ 1997/1998 double-winning side.

That season saw Arsenal win 15 of their final 18 games to usurp Manchester United. Similar would be needed this season but Carragher has listed three reasons as to why he feels it will not happen.

"I'll give you three reasons [why Arsenal can't win the league],” he said on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football show. "They had [Marc] Overmars, [Nicolas] Anelka and Dennis Bergkamp

"This team, at the moment, is playing with Martinelli, Trossard and Havertz, it's not enough."

To which Petit fired back by saying the likes of Bukayo Saka are coming back from injury as well as alluding to the January transfer window being open for his former club to bolster their attacking options.
