Arsenal injury update: Bukayo Saka, Ben White and William Saliba return dates and latest news

Arsenal remain in command of the Premier League title race heading into the final stretch of the season.

Saturday’s big win over Leeds proved the perfect response to Manchester City’s demolition of Liverpool and offered Mikel Arteta hope of ending his team’s Anfield hoodo.

They travel to the Merseyside giants on Sunday looking to complete a rare double over Liverpool.

With games coming thick and fast during April, here’s the latest on Arsenal injuries.

Bukayo Saka

An ever-present in Arsenal’s team this season, Saka started the win over Leeds on the bench due to illness. The fact the 21-year-old came on is obviously promising, so it seems he will be able to face Liverpool.

Potential return date: Sunday 9 April 2023

Ben White

The defender is Arteta’s only senior option at right-back and has proven a potent attacking force of late.

White scored against both Bournemouth and Leeds, as well as providing an assist against Crystal Palace.

There were some fitness concerns before Saturday’s win over Leeds and Arteta has confirmed the England defender will likely be fit for the trip to Anfield.

Kieran Tierney

Tierney was injured during Scotland’s win over Spain and was forced off with an ankle problem.

The injury, however, is not thought to be serious.

William Saliba

Another key figure in Arsenal’s title challenge, Saliba injured his back during the Europa League loss to Sporting last month.

Ruled out for the win over Leeds, Arteta is hopeful the Frenchman will play again this season.

Eddie Nketiah

The striker has been battling an ankle injury in recent weeks and although Nketiah has recently posted a photo of himself back in training, Arteta confirmed he was still a “few weeks away”.

Potential return date: April/May 2023

Takehiro Tomiyasu

The Japan international underwent knee surgery last month and will not play again this season.

Potential return date: Summer 2023

Mohamed Elneny

Like Tomiyasu, Elneny will not be back until the summer after surgery.
