Arsenal injury news: Mikel Arteta provides updates on Jorginho and Eddie Nketiah

Mikel Arteta has confirmed Jorginho “wasn’t’ feeling good” during Arsenal’s win over Everton.

The midfielder came off at half-time as Thomas Partey continued his comeback from injury on a huge night for the Gunners.

Arteta’s side made the most of their game in hand and have once again established a five-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League with a 4-0 victory.

After a difficult opening 40 minutes, Bukayo Saka broke the deadlock before Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard scored.

Martinelli added a fourth, putting Arsenal into prime position for the title with only 13 games remaining.

While Partey’s return is clearly a boost, however, Jorginho was forced off.

Of the Italian international, Arteta said: “I think the team grew, especially with Thomas because Jorginho wasn’t feeling good today.”

Striker Eddie Nketiah was brought on for stand-in central striker Leandro Trossard during the closing stages but was seen limping towards the end of the game.

Of his fitness, Arteta said: “Hopefully he is fine, he ended the game well but he has been carrying a little thing.”
