Arsenal are reportedly in 'pole position' to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The Serbia international enters the final 18 months of his contract with I Biancocelesti in January and is yet to agree new terms. It's understood that the Italian side are keen to keep hold of their skipper but face the prospect of losing the 27-year-old on a free transfer.
Milinkovic-Savic has long been a subject of interest by the Gunners and has been linked with a move to the Premier League after being involved in 12 goals in 20 appearances this season. The former Genk man has also attracted interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.

Following reports that Juventus were eyeing him as Adrien Rabiot's replacement, Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport has claimed that the Gunners have shown an interest in recent months and sent scouts during the 2-0 win over Verona in September.
It's understood that the player is more open to joining Mikel Arteta's side due to their good start to the season. football.london reported in the summer that Arsenal were in the market for a midfielder and it's likely that those plans remain in place after failing to sign Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa.
It remains unclear whether technical director Edu will pursue a move for a new midfielder next month. Arteta's current squad is well stocked in that area of the pitch compared to the frontline following Gabriel Jesus' injury setback, with a move for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk prioritised.
