Arsenal icon Thierry Henry reveals why he brutally ignored Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has revealed that Arsenal legend Thierry Henry left his recent text message on read.

The Dutch international has enjoyed a stellar campaign with the Reds, helping them win the Carabao Cup earlier this year whilst also guiding them to the UEFA Champions League and FA Cup finals, with Jurgen Klopp's side also firmly in the Premier League title race. And after Van Dijk and Co beat Villarreal 3-2 in the second leg of Tuesday's Champions League semi-final, the commanding centre-back claimed that Henry ignored his last text.

Speaking to CBS Sports, he said: "Titi. (Henry) I text him but he didn't text me back."

He continued: "You tell him now. Titi, the legend." Arsenal's all-time leading goalscorer then replied by claiming Van Dijk must have messaged the wrong phone number. The Frenchman then said: "I actually don't have his number anymore.

"So text me... I'll go to someone else to get his number. I changed my number and when I put all my numbers on my new phone, his wasn't there."

Former Liverpool centre-half Jamie Carragher found the entire interaction hilarious before saying: "To be fair tonight has been a little bit of lack of respect from Thierry. I mean Virgil van Dijk, CBS not wearing a tie, this is a little bit of a theme here.

"He's a top guy, he's shown you that respect and you're not getting back in touch." Henry then replied to the Reds hero by adding: " He didn't text the right number.

"I'll get him. You're actually upset because he's texting me."
