Arsenal icon Ian Wright believes that "things are going to happen" at Chelsea under Graham Potter, backing the new head coach with plenty of praise. It comes amid a warning that Newcastle could be challenging for the top six this season, with the Magpies undergoing a huge transformation.
The Blues currently sit in fourth, two points clear of Eddie Howe's men with a game in hand over them too. Their rise in the table coincides with the appointment of Potter, who is yet to taste defeat since he has been in charge of Chelsea after the ownership viewed him as the right man to take the club forward in their vision.
"Our job is to try to help them and to try to help them enjoy their football," Potter said on his start to life with his new squad. "There is pressure, and we want to win, but if they are enjoying their football, there is quality in the team."

However, the league remains as competitive as ever, with impressive starts from rivals Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham, while Manchester United and Liverpool possess enough quality to cause problems themselves. It could be the toughest of battles to finish in the top six, let alone in the top four, for the guarantee of Champions League football.
The inclusion of Newcastle in the mix could make that tougher too, though Wright believes they won't make the top six while the Blues could impress. Speaking on Premier League productions, he said: "I think Eddie [Howe] has been shrewd with what he has done. He said himself with Guimaraes, 'we have really had a result', that they are astounded by it and his ability.
"It seems like they are ready to go. They are getting to the place where people will say, 'that's a cool place to go now'. That is what Newcastle are doing.
"I don't see that yet because of the teams ahead of them. We haven't mentioned Chelsea. I think with Graham Potter, things are going to happen because of how good of a coach he is. I think they [Newcastle] have a long way to go to break into the six. They have a long way."
It remains to be seen if things will pan out that way, with Newcastle posing a clear threat for any side that may underestimate them this season. As for the Blues, they have hit the ground running and hope to continue that for the foreseeable future under Potter.
