William Saliba has been sensational for Arsenal since he returned from an impressive loan spell at Marseille last term. The French defender's form this season earned him a place in France's World Cup squad as Les Bleus reached the final for a second consecutive tournament, but were unable to retain their crown as world champions.
The Gunners are hoping to tie Saliba down to a new long-term deal with his current contract set to expire in 2024. The 21-year-old has been ever-present in Mikel Arteta's team this season, playing every single minute in the Premier League campaign as they fight for the title.
Jakub Kiwior completed a £21million move to the Emirates Stadium in January to add depth to Arteta's centre-back options heading into a crucial period of the season. Saliba remains one of the first names on the team sheet and his performances continue to prove how crucial he is to their title hopes.

Speaking to Genting Casino, former Arsenal defender William Gallas ranked Saliba as one of the top three defenders in the Premier League this season. The French icon said: "I have three defenders in my mind that I believe have been performing really well for their clubs this season.
"Saliba at Arsenal is a player that has impressed me a lot. For a boy of his age, he is very strong in the defensive line and plays with a lot of confidence.
"He still makes little mistakes, but I think what he is doing for and the role he is playing in Arsenal’s defence is magnificent."
Gallas listed Manchester United star Raphael Varane and Manchester City summer signing Manuel Akanji as the other two standout defenders in the Premier League this term. If Saliba is to continue his impressive form and performances, he could be a strong favourite for the Young Player of the Year award after being awarded the same accolade for his displays in France last season.
