Ahead of the summer transfer window, Arsenal have been linked with a number of names as they attempt to bolster their attack. The likes of Alexander Isak, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Erling Haaland have all been mentioned in the gossip columns but as of the time of writing, it remains to be seen who will fill the Gunners’ attacking vacancy next term.
One player that could potentially be an excellent candidate is former Paris Saint-Germain forward and current RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku. The Frenchman has found some seriously impressive form for the Bundesliga outfit this term.
He has already hit 26 goals and provided 15 assists so far this season in all competitions - a record which includes a hat-trick against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. His exhilarating displays have seen him rewarded on the international stage for the first time.

As confirmed by the French national side, Nkunku has been named in Les Bleus squad for their upcoming clashes with the Ivory Coast and South Africa over the upcoming international break. He joins on-loan Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi in receiving a call-up and will certainly be keen to continue making an impression.
Whilst the news will of course be welcome from the perspective of the forward, it could provoke some problems for Arsenal as they attempt to seal his services. With international recognition, there is likely to be more attention in his services.
Meanwhile, it could also see his transfer value sky-rocket. Currently sitting at £49.5million with transfermarkt, the 24-year-old has certainly come a long way from the £10.8million valuation that he possessed when he joined Leipzig back in the summer of 2019.
Arsenal know first-hand how valuations can rise steeply following an international call-up. Take the example of Bukayo Saka, who saw his own value rise to £58.5million following his England debut - a huge increase on his original valuation of £31.5million.
Should Nkunku experience the same rise, then it could be likely that Arsenal could be forced to pay out over £70million should they harbour aspirations of securing his services ahead of next season. Of course, only once have Arsenal paid over that amount - that coming with the record transfer of Nicolas Pepe ahead of the 2019/20 season.
