Arsenal transfer news: Gunners hold more Arthur Melo talks in bid to find Juventus loan solution

Arsenal have held further talks with Arthur Melo’s agent as they bid to tie up a move for the Juventus man.

The Gunners have identified the Brazilian as the midfielder they want to sign this month, but Juventus have so far been unwilling to sanction a loan deal.

Further talks took place yesterday, however, and possible solutions, such as an 18-month loan, have been discussed.

Juventus are reluctant to let Arthur leave at the moment as they have so far been unable to bring in a replacement.

Arthur, however, is keen to make the move to north London, if only on loan, and Arsenal are working hard to get a deal over the line.

Speaking in general about Arsenal’s transfer business, manager Mikel Arteta said on Wednesday: “The team are working extremely hard to get the players that we want and we are have no news to give you.

“We have a plan to try to bring players in and try to get the players we want with the right qualities and improve the squad in the best possible way every single window.”
