Arsenal hit with $295m PSG problem as Mikel Arteta face quadruple transfer blow

Arsenal currently possess some of the hottest talents in football across most areas of Mikel Arteta's squad. As comes with that status, the constant speculation linking their assets with big-money moves follows.

In the last 12 months, William Saliba, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, Folarin Balogun and Gabriel Jesus have all been the subject of interest from around Europe after impressive individual seasons.

Qualification to the Champions League means the Gunners find themselves in a secure position in protecting their star assets. Martinelli, Saka and Aaron Ramsdale have all penned new deals in north London, with talks with Odegaard and Salibia still ongoing.

But the majority of time, money talks and revelations from Italy will provide a sincere scare for Arteta. According to Foot Mercato, Julian Nagelsmann is a serious candidate for the Paris Saint-Germain job amid uncertainty over Christophe Galtier's future.

But where do Arsenal come into this? Well, the same report states that Emirates Stadium favourite Thierry Henry is likely to be viewed as a 'contingency option' by the Qatari owners in Paris. Henry is a favourite in France after winning the European Championship and World Cup with Les Blues, scoring 51 times in 123 appearances.

He hasn't endeavoured in coaching since leaving MLS side Montreal Impact, which makes the appointment as surprising as it is. However, should he replace Galtier, there's a strong chance he could raid his former employers to upgrade the PSG squad.

The French giants have been heavily linked with Saliba recently, as well as Odegaard. Tempting Odegaard will prove more difficult than Saliba, but working with one of the game's greatest would be difficult to turn down.

Lionel Messi has already left the club and Neymar is expected to follow him. The attack at the Parc des France will be at the top of PSG's priority list this summer, meaning Martinelli or Jesus could possibly be on Henry's radar.

If Henry is appointed, Arsenal will have to be wary of a potential transfer raid on their squad from one of their favourites. Fortunately for Arsenal, the brotherhood bond built at London Colney means some convincing will have to be done.
