Arsenal hero Aaron Ramsey offered transfer lifeline by former Juventus colleague

Former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has reportedly been handed a Juventus exit route by none other than Bianconeri and Italy icon Andrea Pirlo.

The Welshman finds himself in a desperate situation regarding his chances of playing regular football next season. He is seemingly suprlus to requirements with his parent club, who have for some time been trying to get him off the wage bill.

A loan spell with Scottish giants Rangers didn't go to plan either. The 31-year-old made just 13 appearances for the club in his six-month loan spell - nine of those being starts. He also missed the decisive penalty in the Europa League final showdown with German giants Eintracht Frankfurt.

It appears that the Scottish side will not be taking up the permanent option in the deal that took him to Ibrox originally and opportunities look to be minimal should he return to Juventus. Fortunately, Ramsey has a huge opportunity to seal a move away from Turin courtesy of Juve legend Pirlo.

According to reports in Italy, the Welshman could be offered the chance to move to Turkey and Pirlo’s new club Fatih Karagumruk. The 43-year-old was confirmed as the side’s manager last week and is already looking to draft in recruits ahead of next season.

It remains to be seen if a deal can be thrashed out but it looks unlikely that Juventus would stand in Ramsey’s way should he want to pursue a switch. The Welshman signed for the Old Lady in 2019 following the expiry of his Arsenal contract, penning a lucrative four-year deal in Turin.

However, the switch hasn't worked out for either party, with the former Gunner failing to establish himself within the first-team having made just 70 appearances for the club over three seasons, scoring on only six occasions. He has just a year remaining on the original deal that he penned in Italy.

Intriguingly, Pirlo has already hinted that he may turn to his former players for potential future transfers. He said: "I was lucky because I played for important clubs and I hope I can use some of my contacts to bring some of their players here.

"I think it would be good for some of them to experience a new culture and a new style of football."

Should Ramsey make the switch to Turkey then he would be reunited with former Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano - the Italian having been with the club for the last two seasons. Meanwhile, former Premier League players Fabio Borini and Ahmed Musa are currently plying their trade in the Turkish Super Lig.

Whilst Fatih Karagumruk could potentially be contenders for Ramsey’s services this summer, Cardiff City have also been rumoured to be considering a move for the midfielder’s signature in a move that would see him return to his first professional club for the first time since a brief loan spell during the 2010/11 season.
