Arsenal fans wince when they hear the name Serge Gnabry given how successful he has become since leaving the Emirates Stadium almost six years ago.
The talented winger struggled for consistent game time during his five-year stint with the Gunners before leaving back in 2016.
However, the 26-year-old has since established himself as one of the best wingers in Europe, netting 59 goals and providing a further 37 assists in 153 games for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, where he has won three Bundesliga titles and a UEFA Champions League amongst other things.
The German international 's incredible productivity hasn't gone unnoticed either, with Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid all currently monitoring his contract situation at the Allianz Arena, according to Sky Germany.
Gnabry, who is valued at £63million by Transfermarkt, is into the final 17 months of his deal with Bayern, who have so far been unwilling to match his salary demands, which are said to be similar to what teammates Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sane both currently earn.
However, if he does end up leaving the reigning German champions it is Arsenal that have a clear advantage over their Premier League rivals in any pursuit to acquire his services.
During an interview with CBS Sports back in 2020, Gnabry spoke fondly of the north London club, claiming that the Gunners would be 'the favourite' choice in England if he ever did decide to leave Munich.
When asked about his impressive goalscoring record against Arsenal's rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, he added: "Because of my Arsenal history against Spurs you have a little bit more motivation."
