Arsenal handed Serge Gnabry transfer boost as Real Madrid make decision on Bayern Munich star

Serge Gnabry is the player that the majority of Arsenal fans would love to see a return to the club this summer. Having left the club under Arsene Wenger, failing to nail down a regular spot, the German international has since gone from strength to strength.

Now a Bundesliga and Champions League winner, Gnabry could potentially be on the move again. Bayern are struggling to agree on a new contract with the former Arsenal youngster, and this could open the door for the Gunners.

However, German newspaper Bild via BeSoccer suggested that Real Madrid were looking at Gnabry too. Having missed out on both Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, Los Blancos have been on the lookout for their next ‘Galactico’ signing and the 26-year-old could certainly fulfil the criteria.

That said, Italian outlet Di Marzio has since seemingly quashed these claims. The report states that Real Madrid have ‘no plans’ to go after a winger now having missed out on Mbappe.

Their focus remains on completing a deal for Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni. The French international has been the primary target of the Spanish capital club since losing out on the PSG ace.

This, therefore, opens the door and hands the incentive to Arsenal. With a €40million (£34million) price tag, it appears this would be a very accessible transfer for the Gunners to make.

Journalist Christian Falk confirmed on social media that Arsenal hold an interest in the player, to the delight of the club’s supporters. Although convincing Gnabry to make the switch and lose Champions League football might mean having to offer a considerable financial package.

Nicolas Pepe seems destined to leave the club this summer football.london understands, after the Ivorian recently changed agents. The switch was designed to help the former Lille wide man to make a permanent move happen this summer.

Gnabry would come in and more than replace Pepe who has not lived up to the £72million price tag in his three years in North London. He would directly compete with Bukayo Saka, but the versatility of both players would give Mikel Arteta a simple task of fitting both into his best starting eleven.
