Arsenal handed Raphinha and Gabriel Jesus transfer boosts as Gunners open to defender loan

Arsenal are set to be one of the Premier League's busiest clubs this summer as they prepare for the return of European football to the Emirates Stadium.

Despite being pipped to the Champions League by Tottenham there was plenty for Arsenal fans to be excited about last season and the break could be equally as riveting. Last season saw Mikel Arteta splash over £140million on new recruits and we could see a similar outlay this time around.

The Gunners announced the signing of Fabio Vieira on Tuesday, with the announcement following the arrival of Marquinhos last week. Now, they're looking to build on that strong start to the window by bringing in more recruits.

With that in mind, football.london has taken a look at all the latest Arsenal related transfer rumours circulating the rumour mill.

Raphinha

As per Catalonian outlet ara, Ousmane Dembele believes staying at Barca and working under Xavi - who has always believed in his ability - is the best thing for his career. The report adds that with the Frenchman set to remain in Catalonia, the club will no longer pursue Leeds United winger Raphinha.

It's widely understood that Barca is the Brazil international's favoured destination, but with them out of the picture, Arsenal now have less competition in the race to sign him.

Gabriel Jesus

Tottenham are not planning to make a last ditch effort to hijack Arsenal's Gabriel Jesus talks as Fabio Paratici's and Daniel Levy's priorities are currently elsewhere, football.london understands.

Nuno Tavares

Marseille are keen to sign defender Nuno Tavares on loan and Arsenal will consider sanctioning his exit if they manage to recruit in that area, according to a report from The Athletic.

The Portugal youngster only joined the Gunners last season but the club are said to be open to the idea of allowing him to leave temporarily. However, they have to bring in further cover in his position before that can happen, with Ajax's Lisandro Martinez believed to be at the very top of their wish list.
