Arsenal have been handed a potential warning over their pursuit for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk in January. It comes as the Gunners continue to be linked with a switch for the Ukraine international as an option for the winter window, having missed out on him in the summer.
The 21-year-old fits the profile of the club's current strategy, signing young talent and in a position that needs bolstering in the coming weeks. It seems as though Mudryk is keen on a move too, continually dropping hints over a potential place in the team at the Emirates Stadium.
Discussing a move with CBS Sports, he said: "I think every guy dreams about the Premier League. It's hard to say [who his preferred move is] but Arsenal is a very good team, very good coach, I like the way they play," Before adding: "From my side, I can't say no [to Arsenal]. But the transfer is not only my decision."

The winger has also posted photos of his current transfer value on his Instagram story as well as liking posts on social media about a move to Arsenal. While a deal is clearly wanted by the player, it may not be that easy for the Gunners to get it over the line with his club.
That's because Shakhtar Donetsk director of football, Darijo Srna, has claimed he won't go cheap. He told the media: "Mudryk is a great talent. There have been no contacts with any club yet. If someone wants him, they will have to pay a lot of money. Mudryk is our present."
It remains to be seen if talks would progress over a transfer, given the fact that the Gunners may have to be clever with their transfer budget.
