Arsenal handed major Serge Gnabry transfer boost following latest Bayern Munich contract twist

Arsenal supporters continue to fantasise over a sensational summer swoop for Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry.

The German international left the Emirates Stadium back in the summer of 2016 and has since established himself as one of Europe's best wingers. And the north Londoners are reportedly keen to bring the talented wideman back to the club as technical director Edu looks to bolster Mikel Arteta's squad ahead of next season.

Now, German outlet Kicker, via iMiaSanMia, have reported that Gnabry is yet to accept Bayern's latest contract offer, with the Bavarian-based club urging the player to give a straight yes or no answer to the latest deal. If the player's response is no, he will reportedly be sold this summer given he has just one year left on his current contract at the Allianz Arena.

According to SportBILD, the talented forward will be free to leave the club for €40million (£34million), a bargain price for the Gunners considering he has netted at least ten league goals in each of his last six seasons. And the 26-year-old has made it no secret of his love for Arsenal, admitting it was extremely tough to leave the club in search of more regular minutes.

Speaking about leaving north London during an interview with Pro Direct back in 2019, he said: "It was the hardest decision but I think it worked out well because I wanted to play. But as a club, Arsenal are top, top."

There could be space for a winger in Arteta's squad too given club-record signing Nicolas Pepe has been linked with a move away from the Emirates after falling down the pecking order in recent months.
