Arsenal handed huge Raphinha transfer blow as Ajax set new transfer price for Lisandro Martinez

The transfer window is beginning to simmer nicely as deals are completed across the globe. One side that is expected to be busy are Arsenal, who have already made some additions in the market.

Three players have already come through the door, with goalkeeper Matt Turner the latest to be announced on Monday. A number of other high profile players are still being linked and it is unlikely to be the end of business for the Gunners.

This has been reinforced by director Edu, who said: “We will now continue to work hard and are looking forward to finishing this transfer window as strongly possible.”

With that said, football.london takes a look at the latest transfer rumours surrounding Arsenal this summer.

Raphinha twist

Arsenal’s pursuit of Leeds United winger Raphinha has been full of twists and turns, and it looks like that is set to continue. According to the Northern Echo, Newcastle have been in talks with officials at the Yorkshire club over a move for the Brazilian.

It remains to be seen whether the Magpies will table an official offer for the 25-year-old though, with plenty of competition for his signature.

Lisandro Martinez price

Ajax have set a price of €50million (£43million) on defender Lisandro Martinez this summer, according to Mike Verweij. It comes after interest from both Arsenal and Manchester United in the transfer market.

The Gunners are said to have shown the most interest, however, tabling two bids already for the Argentina international.

William Saliba talks

Arsenal are in talks over a contract extension with William Saliba, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Frenchman has two years remaining on his deal at the Emirates but it is yet to make a first team appearance for the Gunners.

It comes after a successful loan spell with Marseille, however, his return to the Gunners has raised questions about where his future lies.
