Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Sunday, June 19.
Sassuolo drop huge Gianluca Scamacca transfer hint
Arsenal have been handed a huge boost towards completing the signing of Gianluca Scamacca, with Mikel Arteta eager to bolster his striker force this summer. The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium lately, though the Gunners reportedly face tough competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan for the striker's signature.
And, while Scamacca is yet to decide his future, Sassuolo seem to already have life without the striker planned out. The Italian side have completed the signing of 21-year-old striker Agustin Alvarez, who could be seen as a direct replacement for the Arsenal target.
With the Uruguay international penning a deal at Sassuolo which keeps him at the club until 2027, Edu has been handed the green light he needs to complete the signing of Scamacca. The Gunners are keen to bring in at least one centre-forward this summer after allowing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join Barcelona back in January, with Alexandre Lacazette also departing at the end of the month.

Italian outlet Repubblica have claimed that Arteta is keen to bring the striker to London Colney and Arsenal are ready to table a €35million (£30million) bid However, according to Sky Sports Italia, as cited by the Express, PSG have been in contact with the Serie A side to register their interest.
Tielemans' U-turn decision
Youri Tielemans has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, but Arsenal's business elsewhere in the window looks to have played a role in the Leicester City midfielder choosing to reconsider his short-term options.
Following Porto's confirmation that the north London outfit have have reached an agreement for the transfer of Fabio Vieira on a permanent deal, Arteta's side have 'cooled' their interest in Tielemans, according to Sky Sports. The report claims that it's become increasingly likely that the Belgium international now signs a one-year contract extension at the King Power Stadium, with his current deal set to expire in 12 months.
Arsenal have long been admirers of Tielemans, but with the Gunners having agreed a £34m deal for Porto star Vieira, that interest has waned. Whether or not Edu navigates another move for the Belgian is yet to be seen, though it's believed that the north Londoners will only sign one central midfielder in this window, and their preference is the Portuguese technician.
Jesus bid rejected
Arsenal have reportedly had an opening bid for Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus rejected but remain confident of agreeing a deal and will step up their pursuit in the coming days. football.london understand that the Brazilian is a priority transfer target this summer with technical director Edu holding positive talks with the player's camp in the last six months.
Jesus is set to leave the Etihad Stadium ahead of next season after the arrival of Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland, with the striker potentially set to reunite with Arteta at the Emirates Stadium. According to GOAL, Arsenal's opening bid in the region of £30million has been rejected.
The Gunners remain confident of securing a deal for the 25-year-old and are expected to return with an improved offer in the coming days as the club accelerate their plans to bring Jesus to the Emirates Stadium.
