Arsenal have been handed the opportunity to sign a midfielder dubbed the “next Jude Bellingham” this summer, according to reports. It comes as the Gunners continue their search to reinforce their midfield ranks in the transfer market.
Plenty of work has already been done by Mikel Arteta and his team, with promising duo Marquinhos and Fabio Vieira joining the club early in the window. However, director Edu has suggested that is only the beginning of the potential arrivals.
Speaking to the official Arsenal website, he said: “We will now continue to work hard and are looking forward to finishing this transfer window as strongly possible.”

While a striker is likely to be the priority, a midfield arrival also appears to be on the cards. Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans has reportedly been in transfer talks with a switch to the Emirates, with only one-year remaining on his deal at the King Power Stadium.
However, since then, there has been relative silence on reports surrounding the move with pre-season just weeks away. There are also plenty of other midfield options available, with TalkSPORT claiming one of those is Aston Villa’s Carney Chukwuemeka.
The 18-year-old has 12 months remaining on his deal at Villa Park, with his 12 Premier League appearances last season proving why Steven Gerrard wants to keep him at the club. The midfielder has been dubbed the “next Jude Bellingham”, putting a lot of pressure on the future of the youngster.
The Gunners aren’t the only interested party though, as the report adds that Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are all eyeing a potential swoop too. However, given the opportunities Arteta has given youngsters at the club, it could be a transfer that works out if he went to Arsenal.
