Early prognosis on Thomas Partey's injury suggests that it is not thought to be serious football.london understands. The Ghanaian was forced off at half time during Arsenal's FA Cup fourth-round clash with Manchester City after suffering discomfort in his ribs.
"He felt something and we didn’t want to take any risks so he could not continue," Mikel Arteta told football.london after the match. "He had some discomfort and it was getting worse and worse. He could not continue and he was not comfortable to continue."
However, it is thought that Partey was able to leave the stadium walking without assistance with minimal extra discomfort and early signs suggest that the injury is not too severe. Arsenal will continue to ahead of him ahead of their clash with Everton next week, but hopes are that the Ghanaian will be fit in time for that match.

Even before Partey's knock, Arsenal had been keen to bolster their midfield options during the January transfer window, lodging a £60 million bid for Brighton star Moises Caicedo on Friday morning, football.london understands. That offer was eventually rejected by the Seagulls, who value the player in excess of £75 million following the Ecuadorian's emergence as one of the most consistent midfielders in the Premier League over the last 12 months.
Being without Partey would have created a severe shortage for Arsenal after a knee injury to Mohamed Elneny that Arteta admits could be serious. "There are concerns, especially [because] Mo is a player who never complains about anything," the Spaniard said prior to the City clash. "But let’s see."
