Arsenal given Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice transfer chance amid Man City and Liverpool lesson

Arsenal have made an ideal start to life back in the Premier League so far, winning six of their opening seven games to lead the rest of the division heading into the international break. Even if some claim it has been an "easy" start, the Gunners have already begun to better their own results from last season, showing an improvement.

Some of that comes from the squad building that Mikel Arteta has looked to create, investing in young players who have developed into superstars for the team. The likes of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe have blossomed into key players that are regulars on the Premier League stage through their own performances.

Their improvement along with the rest of the squad shows a maturity that could get them over the line this season when it comes to the pursuit of a top four finish, or perhaps even more than that. When taking a look at the age comparison to the peak for each position, it backs up the improvement in performances as they've gone.

A comparison made by Twitter user @oh_that_crab has shown that Arsenal's players across the majority of their positions are yet to hit their peak. As for rivals Manchester City, the majority of their squad is at the end of or past their peak, while Liverpool's squad are either at the start of theirs or beyond them.

It could prove as a warning to those sides when it comes to the future and the ability of this Arsenal squad that is being built towards their prime. However, one area appears quite clear when it comes to potential building in the transfer market: the midfield.

All of Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey are all past their peak, with the latter especially an issue over his reoccurring injury concerns. That could mean that Arteta has to look at bringing a player or two that are still young, but coming towards their peak years.

Two that could be ideal are Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham, with both edging towards a potential transfer saga next summer. While both still have their best years ahead of them, they also fit the home grown quota in for the squad registration.

There may be concerns over just how much they could cost, especially given the interest from other clubs, however they could be the final pieces to building the ideal squad for a title challenge in the future.
