Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta played a big part in the Gunners’ third goal against Watford on Sunday, helping out from the sidelines just before the well-worked finish.
The Gunners were at their clinical best up front at Vicarage Road, putting on an attacking display that could have been confused for the best days of the Arsene Wenger era.
Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka combined inside the first ten minutes to give Arsenal the lead, with the Norwegian’s flick finding his teammate, who returned the favour for a cool finish in the box.
The Hornets equalised with a goal of the highest standard too, latching onto a cross with an overhead kick that beat Aaron Ramsdale in the Gunners net.
It didn’t take long for Arteta’s men to retake the lead though. Saka nipped in to win the ball from Tom Cleverly just outside the Watford box.
His quick pass to Alexandre Lacazette was laid back off to Saka, who blasted his shot into the top right-hand corner.
Though the lead was there for the visitors, they continued to push for more goals in the game.
A two-goal cushion did come in the second half for Arsenal, with thanks to their manager in the build-up to it.
As the ball went out of play for a throw-in, Arteta was quick to pick the ball up and threw it at Saka, urging him to get the ball back in-play quickly.
He did so, with the quick move after falling to the feet of Gabriel Martinelli, who slammed his shot past Ben Foster.
It was yet another devastating move from the Gunners, worked on the training ground by Arteta, but executed thanks to his help on the sidelines.
