Arsenal fans spot what Kylian Mbappe did in Real Madrid vs PSG amid Thierry Henry comparison

Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe continued his tradition of paying homage to former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry by recreating his famous Bernabeu celebration against Real Madrid.

Mbappe found the back of the net on Wednesday night as PSG were sent crashing out of the UEFA Champions League by Real Madrid, having conceded three goals to a Karim Benzema hat-trick in 17 minutes.

But it was the young Frenchman's goal which had eagle-eyed football fans casting their mind back 16 years.

In 2006, Arsenal played Madrid in the same stadium in the Round of 16 and Henry scored the only goal of the game.

Wheeling away in delight, the Gunners' captain raised both arms in celebration.

On Wednesday night, it was Mbappe's turn to find the back of the net in Madrid and celebrated the same way his compatriot did all those years ago - at the exact same stage of the competition.

Before the sides met in the second-leg, Mbappe revealed that growing up he based his game on Henry.

"I think as a French player you can Thierry Henry, it's normal, but Ronaldo Nazario too," Mpabbe said on the Between the Lines podcast.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a high-profile move to Real Madrid in the summer and scored in both legs of the Round of 16 European tie.
