Arsenal fans have continued to vent their frustrations with Premier League referees ahead of Thursday's clash against Wolves.
The Gunners have been left frustrated by a number of decisions against them since the turn of the year, with Gabriel Magalhaes, Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey and Gabriel Martinelli all receiving red cards in 2022.
In fact, Brazilian forward Martinelli was sent off against Wolves in the corresponding fixture less than a fortnight ago, a controversial decision given the youngster's two fouls came within four seconds of each other, in the same sequence of play.
Now, some supporters have taken to social media to complain that Martin Atkinson has been appointed to officiate the match against Bruno Lage's side this week.
Twitter user GoonerTaIk pointed out: "Martin Atkinson will take charge of Arsenal v Wolves. Great. We’ve received a red card or conceded a penalty in every game he’s officiated this season, and he’s handed out more cards to Arsenal than any other team."
Atkinson has officiated three Gunners matches this season, brandishing Granit Xhaka red cards in August's 5-0 loss to Manchester City and last month's 0-0 draw against Liverpool, whilst also awarding Manchester United a penalty in a 3-2 loss at Old Trafford back in December.
A number of supportes replied to the aforementioned Tweet admitting their frustrations at the officials in recent times.
@ArsenalDiaz12 : "They're desperate to stop us getting top 4 aren't they don't be surprised if we get a huge call against us in some way."
@FreshPrinceAFC : "Clubs should be able to complain against the ref they have in charge for a game. It’s ridiculous a team can have such little freedom of speech in such regard."
@DMonsterUMade : "I'm still surprised we didn't get a pen in the last match."
@revozie94 : "I can’t believe we have come to a point where we have to worry about the referees more than the opposition. I think Arteta has a whole training session allocated on how to deal with referees."
