Raging Arsenal fans were forced to move from their seats during the Europa League clash with Sporting with the roof leaking at the Emirates.
The home of the Gunners' has been criticised in recent months with the stadium in dire need of a facelift amid issues with the roof as well as the logos on the outside of the stadium beginning to look faded, with the English Premier League leaders promising an overhaul of the stadium when the season is concluded. In the meantime, fans were left soaked as water poured into the stands during torrential rain in London.
During the clash with Portuguese side, clips and photos began to emerge on social media with one fan sharing a snap with the caption: "Emirates roof is leaking so bad that fans are having to move out the way. It’s also happening at the clock end." Another shared a video of the incidents off the pitch stating: "(The leak is) Slowly moving its way towards us!".
On the pitch, Mikel Arteta's side were taken to extra-time in the Europa League last 16 clash. Granit Xhaka had given the home side the lead before Pedro Goncalves found the net from 46 yards out to lob Aaron Ramsdale.
