Arsenal fans fire late Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang parting shot after Barcelona transfer confirmed

Arsenal waved goodbye to striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang last week as he sealed a deadline day move to Spanish giants Barcelona.

The Gabonese's spell in north London came to an end after four years, 163 appearances, 92 goals and an FA Cup.

It was certainly a sad end to Aubameyang’s career as an Arsenal player - especially with him having not appeared for some time due to a disciplinary breach.

With his move to the Camp Nou confirmed though, football.london ran a poll to see how Gunners’ supporters were feeling about the situation surrounding Aubameyang and his exit. It is fair to say that there has been mixed views shared.

Despite the striker’s immense contributions as an Arsenal player since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund in 2018, the vast majority of fans do not consider him as an Arsenal legend.

In fact, only 34.1% suggested that he should hold legendary status at the Emirates Stadium - with another 65.9% stating the opposite.

Away from that however, it is clear that Gunners’ fans believe that the blame does not lie entirely with the 32-year-old for the way his Arsenal spell concluded.

Only 47.4% believe that the north Londoners have managed Aubameyang correctly over the past season, 52.6% of the opinion that he was handled perfectly.

Meanwhile, most fans also believe that the decision to let the striker go was the wrong one - albeit it being a close call.

According to our survey, 51.7% said that Arsenal were wrong in releasing the Gabonese without signing a striker - 48.7% suggesting that the decision in allowing him to complete his Barcelona move was the right one.

Despite all of those split opinions on Aubameyang, it is clear that he has the well-wishes of the majority of supporters at the Camp Nou.

An overwhelming 63.5% think that he will be a success at Barcelona, some 36.5% instead of the opinion that he will be a flop.

Most fans also believe that he will be back to his prolific best in Catalonia. The majority of supporters have said that he will score between eight to 11 goals for the Spanish giants, with counts of four to seven and 16+ closely following behind.
