Arsenal fans were left overjoyed following Wolves' victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Mikel Arteta's side recorded a crucial 1-0 victory against the east Midlands club on Thursday evening thanks to a first-half finish from Brazilian centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes.
However, a number of Bruno Lage's players were left unimpressed by the Gunners' celebrations following the full-time whistle, with both Ruben Neves and Conor Coady questioning the north London outfit for how they reacted to the win.
Speaking after the match, Neves said: "We saw the way they celebrated the win and that shows the level we are. I didn't see Arsenal celebrating like this in the past 10 years - it was like they won the league."
Similarly, England international Coady told BBC Radio 5 Live: “We’ve seen them [the celebrations], we heard them. We’ve obviously seen the whole thing, I know Ruben has obviously spoken out after it.
“They celebrated quite hard, didn’t they? It probably obviously shows how big the game was to them, and to us – it was big to us as well."
He added: "So we’ve seen the celebrations, I’ll be honest with you, from our point of view, we really didn’t like them.”
Neves and Co then defeated Spurs 2-0 on Sunday afternoon, with a number of Arsenal fans taking to social media, claiming that their celebrations had helped rile Wolves up before putting in a solid performance against Antonio Conte's men.
Here is what a select few on Twitter said.
@Cazorla_Esque: "Wolves have vented their frustration of that Arsenal celebration against the wrong London club."
@PatrickTimmons1: "Arsenal celebrated for ages on Thursday, riling up the Wolves players in the process, who then took out that pent-up anger on Spurs. This is football heritage."
@afcDW: "Our celebrations really got Wolves pumped to turn up against Spurs. Couldn’t have planned it any better."
@PaddyArsenal: "We made Wolves angry and they took it out on Spurs."
@chief_afc: "Spurs fans were doing essays about how it’s embarrassing that Arsenal are celebrating a win vs Wolves hold dat."
@OzilThings: "Tottenham haven’t won a game against a top half team since August."
@afcnine: "Cheers lads, apologies for Thursday night."
@bhavss14: "'Game in hand’ FC have now played the same amount as Arsenal, only to sit 8th & 3 points behind us."
