Arsenal are set to face serious competition from Paris Saint-Germain for the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk talent Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Mudryk has already publicly stated his desire to play in the Premier League and admitted he "'can't say no" to the Gunners if they were to submit a transfer bid. Dubbed the 'next Kylian Mbappe', the 21-year-old was denied a move as Shakhtar slapped a £50million price tag on him in an effort to deter interest from Arsenal, Brentford and Everton.
Club director and former Croatian footballer Darijo Srna compared Mudryk to Mbappe and Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior earlier this season due to his play style and potential ability. The PSG superstar is said to want to leave the Ligue 1 outfit mid-season, which could see the Gunners face serious competition in the transfer race for Shakhtar's talented winger.

According to Spanish news outlet Marca, Mbappe wishes to leave the Parc des Princes in the January transfer window, but the 23-year-old is said to have no interest in joining Real Madrid. The 23-year-old was linked with a move to the Spanish giants earlier this year but opted to sign a new contract and remain in the French capital instead.
After the recent claim that Mbappe now wants to leave PSG, it has alerted the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool regarding his availability. The French forward would demand a huge fee having only recently committed to a new three-year deal, along with being one of the highest earners in football, ruling out all but a handful of clubs due to the finances involved in a potential deal.
It looks as though PSG are already preparing for the eventuality that their star man could leave and, according to Media Foot, the Ligue 1 outfit are considering an approach for Mudryk next summer. The Gunners hold an advantage over PSG with the 21-year-old having already expressed his desire to move to the Premier League, but he could be swayed by the huge financial package the French outfit would be able to offer him.
Mikel Arteta was keen to add a new winger to his squad over the summer after letting Nicolas Pepe leave to join Nice on a season-long loan deal, and a deal for Mudryk could be revisited either in January or next summer.
The Ukrainian winger's stock has risen significantly since the start of the 2022/23 campaign, having registered eight goal contributions in seven appearances in all competitions so far this season, meaning the Gunners would need to pay a sizeable fee to secure his services.
